Ruthe Catolico Ashley , RN, MSN, JD, is an Attorney at Law and Healthcare Consultant. She is an advisor in the Career Development Office of McGeorge School of Law and the president of the Sacramento Asian Chamber of Commerce. She is a nationally-known, dynamic and entertaining professional speaker who presents seminars to thousands of healthcare and legal professionals on subjects ranging from stress management, self-help, empowerment and legal/medical issues for licensed professionals.

Prior to becoming a founding partner at the first Asian Pacific American (APA) women-owned law firm in the greater Sacramento area, she was a lawyer in both small and large firms and at the State Bar where she assisted in establishing the Mandatory Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) program. Her law partnership of Reeves & Ashley, LLP, was proud to receive the Small Business Award at the Sacramento Asian Pacific Chamber of Commerce's 2001 Installation Dinner.

Ms. Ashley has authored several articles for healthcare and legal publications. She was included in Dear Sisters, Dear Daughters, a book with Words of Wisdom from Mulitcultural Women Attorneys Who've Been There and Done That. She was also featured in Perspectives, a publication featuring multicultural women lawyers.

Ms. Ashley has a strong commitment to the community and is involved in many community, professional and political activities. She received the 2001 Local Heroes Award from Sacramento's public television station KVIE and Union Bank for her volunteerism and activism. Ms. Ashley was awarded the Trailblazer Award from a national legal association for her leadership in a unique and innovative organization in the Sacramento area called the Unity Bar Association. She also received the Unity Award for her community service from the Unity Bar Association. She is President of the Sacramento Asian Chamber of Commerce, President of Legal Services of Northern California, and President-elect of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA). She has been an officer of numerous other boards and commissions.

She is a nationally-known, dynamic and entertaining professional speaker who presents seminars to thousands of healthcare and legal professionals on subjects ranging from stress management, self-help, empowerment and legal/medical issues for licensed professionals. Her speaking engagements are filled with humor and anecdotal stories that illustrate important points.

Ms. Ashley commits a large number of hours every week to volunteer activities. She speaks to school groups of all ages in sharing her story of the American Dream. She actively seeks opportunities to mentor and support students of any age. She believes being a role model for younger APA's and women is an important aspect of passing on the torch and preparing future leaders. However, Ms. Ashley considers her greatest accomplishment was in getting two children successfully into young adulthood.
