Stockton Women's Network Launches New Program
Stockton Women's Network is fortunate to consistently host world-class speakers. Our meetings generate an energy that is becoming legendary. The networking going on between members is phenomenal. Therefore, SWN has the ability, and we believe, the responsibility, to go beyond the scope of successful businesswomen and reach out further to the community. SWN Directors approved a proposal w've named Leaders @ Lunch.

The plan is to invite women re-entering the workforce and female high school students as guests every month. SWN will work with non-profit agencies who have access to women re-entering the workforce. SWN will work with school counselors and Big Brothers Big Sisters to accomplish having students in attendance.
The goal is to share the experience of women networking as we exchange information, support and encourage one another; and promote ourselves, our products and services.

Re-entry women and students will have a unique opportunity to hear speakers they probably would never hear otherwise. Here is an exciting thought: You never know when you will hear, see, or be exposed to a person or an idea that will change your life. It's impossible to know what will act as a trigger and result in an aha moment for a human being. I believe that between the role modeling we will provide our special guests and the information our speakers will impart, SWN will offer many opportunities to inspire and influence the direction of lives. We have the chance to give of ourselves and to share our remarkable energy.

We will need underwriters for lunches (although we hope to get secure and on-going funding). We will need members to mentor our guests during networking time. These networking mentors will not be giving up their networking time, either. It's important for our guests to see networking in action. We simply want members to make our guests feel welcomed and included; to make what could be a stressful situation a relaxed and enjoyable learning experience.

Join in this worthwhile endeavor. Here is a chance for you to get involved in Stockton Women's Network. Your involvement does not require special committee meetings you ;re going to be at SWN's monthly luncheon meetings anyway. SWN is giving you an opportunity to add dimension and depth to your (SWN) luncheon experience. We hope many members volunteer and everyone gets at least one or two chances throughout the year to participate. If this sounds rewarding to you, please call me, Jo Marengo-Hawkins, 956-2111.

I would also like to encourage you to bring your daughters, nieces, daughters of friends, etc., to our meetings. These young women are the torch bearers of tomorrow. Let's show them women supporting women. Let's show them our strength, our smarts, our spirit! LET'S GO GIRLS!
