Public relations executive Al Moncado serves as the ambassador for CHARACTER COUNTS!, the program designed by the Josephson Institute in Los Angeles in 1987. Mr. Moncado is presenting The Six Pillars of Character which are: trustworthiness, respect, fairness, responsibility, caring, and citizenship. Whether at work, at home, or at play, there are basic values that define ethical behavior. These values are not political, religious, or culturally-biased. Josephson Institute calls them the Six Pillars of Character, and they form the basis of all Institute programs and materials.
I believe the Six Pillars of Character are the threads interwoven into our moral fiber by our parents. In addition to these characteristics and qualities being present in everything we think, say, and do, they must also be adhered to on a personal basis. What do I mean by that? We need to treat ourselves with the same qualities as we exhibit for others. We must be responsible for our actions. We must care for ourselves appropriately. We must be good citizens to the universe we call our body. Once these qualities are turned inward they are reflected and shine outwardly on all those we encounter.
This is a great opportunity to make sure you are in alignment with who you are being as well as what you are doing in business and personal relationships. I look forward to seeing you at the June luncheon.
