Stephen Richardson was the guest speaker for its April 4, 2007 luncheon, giving a skills development presentation titled, “Achieving Success thru Proving Your Value Proposition”. Mr. Richardson is the Vice President of Western Operations at Growth Development Associates, Inc. (GDA), a business growth consulting firm.

Since 1989, GDA has provided sales, management and business infrastructure skills development for organizations of all sizes across the world. GDA was founded to help individuals and organizations achieve record level growth. Today, GDA is recognized in thirty countries as a leader in the development of sales, marketing and management skills, and in hands-on support that produce quantifiable business results.

Mr. Richardson has over 20 years of experience in sales, marketing, customer service, training & support. He is responsible for business development & delivering GDA solutions to clients, and for executing a wide range of activities to support the internal sales & consulting team.

His professional career began in Japan, where he utilized his fluency in spoken Japanese by working for Nihon Kohden Corporation, a major medical electronics manufacturer. In the International Department, he assisted in driving the sales and marketing programs for the company’s worldwide subsidiaries. After his return to the U.S., he worked for the two leading organizations in the duty free retail industry, Duty Free Shoppers and Allders International. He was responsible for all aspects of sales, operations and customer service functions. Mr. Richardson has also held management positions with Office Depot and Gateway Computers. His unique cross-industry experience in inside/outside sales and consulting enables him to help others succeed by creating healthy sales organizations with solid business infrastructures.

Mr. Richardson graduated from San Jose State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, concentrating in International Business, and has a minor in the Japanese language. He currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce, holds an officer position with Toastmasters International and is a dynamic public speaker.
